About: He married Emma Carrie Bartlett on October 4, 1871. He was a corporal in Company E of the First Battalion of California Infantry, the postmaster in Blocksburg, a farmer, an 1897 board member of Blocksburg School, and a saloon keeper. He also ran a butcher shop, a saddle shop, and was the Palace Hotel in Blocksburg before his death. He was the father of Theodore Audreas Hamann and Lula May Hamann.
